Shadow transport secretary Jim McMahon has conceded defeat within the Hartlepool by-election, telling the BBC that Labour “hasn’t acquired over the road”.
Talking on the Hartlepool rely, Mr McMahon stated: “It’s fairly clear once we see the ballots touchdown on the desk that we simply haven’t acquired over the road on the day… that’s clearly very disappointing.”
