Johnson rejects Covid policy was ‘let it rip’ across UK

The former prime minister said his policy was to “save human life at all ages” as the UK entered the pandemic.

Boris Johnson told the Covid inquiry to “look at what we actually did” rather than read the “accounts you have culled from people’s jottings”.

Mr Johnson said he was not “remotely reconciled to the fatalities across the country” or that he thought it was acceptable to “let it rip”.
