A Conservative MP has said “democracy is not in a good place” after a pro-Palestinian protest at his family home.
Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood was speaking after more than 60 people, some holding Palestinian flags, gathered at his home in a Dorset village to call for a Gaza ceasefire.
Mr Ellwood said he fears hostility towards politicians may be damaging to British politics and put people off seeking election.
He added that: “As events show, we are losing the art of how to disagree as politics becomes ever more angry, ever more hateful.”
