Ian Blackford has accused Boris Johnson of being a “democracy denier” after the PM refused to grant a contemporary referendum on Scottish independence.

The SNP’s Westminster chief accused him of exhibiting “utter contempt for Scottish democracy, for the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish folks”.

However Mr Johnson mentioned the SNP had insisted the 2014 vote was a “as soon as in a era occasion”, and known as on Mr Blackford to “change the file”.
