Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has stated re-opening outdated rail traces, which had been closed underneath the so-called Beeching cuts, can attain “thousands and thousands” of individuals within the UK.
When questioned on whether or not this was a “distraction” for the issues engulfing Northern Rail, Mr Shapps stated he would make a press release on Northern by the top of the 12 months.
He then clarified that he meant to say by the top of the week.
