Eire’s prime minister says an “acrimonious row” between AstraZeneca and the EU over vaccine provide took centre stage and “blindsided” the bloc in a call to set off an emergency Brexit clause.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin advised the BBC’s Andrew Marr that the EU’s now reversed transfer which may have launched Irish border checks was not an act of hostility.
