Aircraft crashes after touchdown in Istanbul, no fatalities -minister

ISTANBUL, Feb 5 (Reuters) – A airplane flying into Istanbul’s
Sabiha Gokcen airport from Izmir skidded off the runway and
crashed on Wednesday however there have been no fatalities, Turkish
Transport Minister Cahit Turhan stated.
The airplane cut up into three items after what Turhan referred to as a
tough touchdown. He added some passengers had been injured.
A spokeswoman for Pegasus Airways confirmed the
crash however didn’t present additional particulars.
Turhan stated the airplane was carrying 177 passengers and 6
crew members from Turkey’s western province of Izmir. Istanbul
Governor Ali Yerlikaya stated on Twitter that emergency response
groups had been working to evacuate the passengers.
Footage on Turkish media confirmed the airplane’s fuselage, as
properly as a piece of it close to the tail, had damaged off.
Passengers had been being led out because the airplane lay on a patch of
grass subsequent to the runway.
Earlier footage confirmed a part of the outside of the airplane had
caught on fireplace.
