DUBAI, Nov 22 (Reuters) – After insisting for 15 years that the superjumbo is the longer term, Emirates airline has been compelled by the demise of the A380 to embrace smaller wide-body jets, leading to a flurry of manoeuvres between planemakers at this week’s Dubai Airshow.
The 555-seat A380 is close to the tip of manufacturing, setting off a collection of interlocking offers as prime purchaser Emirates evaluations its fleet towards the backdrop of fragmenting journey demand. Delays within the 406-seat Boeing 777X additionally weighed within the shake-up.
