Athletics-Britain’s Farah defends popularity after Salazar suspension

NEW YORK, Oct 11 (Reuters)British Olympic champion Mo Farah defended his popularity at a information convention forward of the Chicago Marathon on Friday after being bombarded with questions on his former coach Alberto Salazar who has been banned for doping violations.

Farah, who has not been accused of any wrongdoing, labored from 2011 to 2017 with Salazar, who was given a four-year ban by the U.S. Anti-Doping Company (USADA) on Sept. 30.

The 36-year-old Farah, talking for the primary time since Salazar was suspended, responded angrily to questions on his former mentor, with whom he achieved a few of his greatest performances.

“It’s very disappointing to see you guys going at it time and again, and headlines, ‘Farah, Farah, Farah’,” he stated.
