Jan 20 (Reuters)British Airways and Iberia proprietor Worldwide Airways Group ICAG.L has agreed to purchase Spain’s Air Europa for 500 million euros ($606.7 million) below an amended deal, the businesses stated in a press release on Tuesday.

Beneath the amended deal, “the events have agreed that the quantity to be paid by Iberia for Air Europa shall be lowered from an fairness worth of 1 billion euros to 500 million euros the assertion added.

Cost shall be deferred till the sixth anniversary of the acquisition’s completion, based on the assertion.

After initially agreeing to purchase Air Europa for 1 billion euros in November 2019, IAG has been pushing to chop the value because the coronavirus pandemic threw the airline trade into disaster.
