Boeing, FAA reviewing wiring subject on grounded 737 MAX

WASHINGTON, Jan 5 (Reuters)Boeing Co BA.N and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed on Sunday they’re reviewing a wiring subject that would probably trigger a brief circuit on the grounded 737 MAX.

Boeing spokesman Gordon Johndroe mentioned Sunday the U.S. planemaker “recognized this subject as a part of that rigorous course of, and we’re working with the FAA to carry out the suitable evaluation. It will be untimely to invest as as to whether this evaluation will result in any design modifications.”

The New York Instances reported Boeing is reviewing whether or not two bundles of wiring are too shut collectively, which might result in a brief circuit and probably end in a crash if pilots didn’t reply appropriately.

The FAA mentioned in a press release Sunday the company and firm “are analyzing sure findings from a current assessment of the proposed modifications to the Boeing 737 MAX.” The company added it would “make sure that all security associated points recognized throughout this course of are addressed.”
