Brazil’s ABPA says govt in talks to increase chicken export quotas to the U.K.


SAO PAULO, Sept 29 (Reuters)Brazilian meat producers want to increase chicken supplies to the United Kingdom and the government of President Jair Bolsonaro is negotiating an increase of chicken export quotas to that country, Ricardo Santin, head of meat lobby ABPA, told a press conference on Wednesday.

ABPA, which represents large meatpackers like BRF BRFS3.SA and JBS JBSS3.SA, said Brazil is also trying to start exporting pork products to Canada, adding an agreement to access that market is imminent.
