LONDON, Feb 27 (Reuters)Britain on Thursday unveiled a troublesome negotiating mandate for talks with the European Union, underlining its need for future financial and political independence that pits London on a collision course with Brussels.

After leaving the EU final month, Britain has till the tip of the 12 months to barter a commerce deal and agreements on every thing from fishing to move, ending greater than 40 years of shut political and financial relations.

Having accepted that by leaving the EU’s customs union and single market British companies will encounter new “frictions” in commerce with the bloc, Britain has made its stance clear – regained sovereignty will trump the economic system.

The 2 sides have till June to get what London’s negotiating group referred to as “the broad define of an settlement” to be finalised by September, in any other case Britain would head for an Australian-style settlement, a looser buying and selling association.
