LONDON, March 31 (Reuters)British Airways ICAG.L mentioned it’s briefly suspending flights from Gatwick Airport in southern England, Britain’s second busiest airport, as a result of coronavirus.

BA’s boss warned earlier in March that the airline was in a battle for survival and must lower jobs and park planes.

“Because of the appreciable restrictions and difficult market atmosphere, like many different airways, we’ll briefly droop our flying schedule at Gatwick,” a BA spokesman mentioned.

BA mentioned it is going to contact affected clients. The airline continues to function some flights from its essential hub at Heathrow.

Rival airline easyJet EZJ.L mentioned on Monday that it had grounded its complete fleet.
