Canadians gentle candles to mourn victims of Iran aircraft crash

TORONTO/EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan 9 (Reuters)Canadians held candlelight vigils in a number of cities on Thursday to recollect 63 residents killed in a aircraft crash in Iran, in what Canada’s prime minister known as a “tragedy that shocked the world.”

Canada has been in mourning since Wednesday’s crash of the Ukraine Worldwide Airways flight sure for Kiev from Tehran that killed all 176 folks aboard. It was the biggest lack of life amongst Canadians since an Air India flight blew up in 1985 over the Atlantic Ocean, killing 268 folks from Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, citing intelligence sources, stated on Thursday the Ukraine airways aircraft was possible introduced down by an Iranian missile. He added the airliner’s destruction “could properly have been unintentional.” Iran denied reviews the aircraft was hit by a missile.

The crash occurred hours after Iran fired ballistic missiles at two navy bases in Iraq internet hosting U.S. troops, and when Iranians had been on excessive alert for a U.S. navy response.
