Sept 15 (Reuters) – Fertilizer producer CF Industries Holdings Inc CF.N said on Wednesday it was halting operations at both its Billingham and Ince, UK, manufacturing complexes due to higher natural gas prices.
U.S. natural gas futures NGc1 rose 3.8% to settle at $5.460 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) on Wednesday, their highest close since February 2014 for a third day in a row.
CF Industries Holdings did not have an estimate for when the production will resume at the facilities.
The company on Thursday began restarting ammonia plants in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, after halting production due to hurricane Ida.
