SHANGHAI, July 11 (Reuters) – China’s Ministry of Commerce stated Sunday it “resolutely opposes” the addition of 23 Chinese language entities to a U.S. financial blacklist over points together with alleged human rights abuses and navy ties.
In a press release citing a spokesperson, the Chinese language commerce ministry stated the inclusion of the Chinese language entities was a “severe breach of worldwide financial and commerce guidelines” and an “unreasonable suppression” of Chinese language firms.
The Chinese language authorities “will take crucial measures to safeguard China’s authentic rights and pursuits,” the assertion stated.
The U.S. Division of Commerce stated on Friday it had added 14 firms and different entities to its financial blacklist, saying that they had been “implicated in human rights violations and abuses within the implementation of China’s marketing campaign of repression, mass detention, and excessive know-how surveillance towards Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and different members of Muslim minority teams within the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Area.”
Beijing denies the alleged abuses.
Entities included on the financial blacklist are typically required to use for licenses from the Commerce Division and face powerful scrutiny once they search permission to obtain objects from U.S. suppliers.
Washington additionally added 5 entities it stated immediately assist China’s navy modernisation programmes associated to lasers and battle administration programs. It recognized an additional 4 entities for “exporting and trying to export objects” to entities already sanctioned by the U.S.
