EU commerce chief voices optimism on resolving U.S. metal tariff dispute


BRUSSELS, Sept 3 (Reuters)The European Union’s commerce chief stated on Friday he had turn out to be extra optimistic that the bloc might resolve its dispute with the USA over U.S. import tariffs on metal and aluminium.

European Fee Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis stated that one of many joint conclusions of a EU-U.S. summit in mid-June was to work to resolve the difficulty by the top of the 12 months.

“After the EU-U.S. summit I’m extra optimistic that the answer shall be discovered, so we at the moment are participating carefully with the related departments within the U.S. administration,” he advised a session of Brussels think-tank Bruegel’s annual conferences.
