SINGAPORE, Feb 14 (Reuters) – A number of the world’s largest plane consumers are urging the European Union to clear Boeing’s tie-up with Embraer, fearing Embraer’s business aviation enterprise would battle by itself now Airbus has swallowed its predominant competitor in regional jets.
Airbus AIR.PA, Europe’s largest planemaker, on Thursday elevated its controlling stake within the A220 regional jet programme – Embraer’s predominant rival – as Canada’s Bombardier BBDb.TO bought out of the venture it had arrange.
That deal leaves Embraer trying more and more uncovered, regardless of its lengthy historical past as an unbiased producer, and ratchets up stress on the Brazilian firm and U.S. large Boeing to finish an analogous tie-up, consumers and analysts stated.
