EXCLUSIVE-Mercuria bulks up power transition crew with BP, Shell hires -sources

July 21 (Reuters)International commodity dealer Mercuria is aggressively increasing its power transition enterprise, snapping up staff from oil majors BP Plc BP.L and Royal Dutch Shell RDSa.L, in line with three individuals conversant in the matter and worker LinkedIn profiles.

The hires illustrate the frenzy within the power business to recruit workers with information of carbon buying and selling and renewable fuels markets because the world transitions to cleaner power sources in a bid to battle local weather change. Funding corporations and commodity retailers, together with hedge fund Citadel, Gunvor Group GGL.ULand Trafigura TRAFGF.UL, have bolstered and wish to broaden U.S. groups focusing on buying and selling renewable fuels.
