JOHANNESBURG, Nov 11 (Reuters) – Ghana’s cocoa regulator will this week finalise a $600 million mortgage to finance new warehouses, rehabilitate plantations and help the processing sector, officers mentioned on Monday.
Underneath the deal, the world’s No.2 cocoa producer Ghana sought $250 million from growth finance establishments led by the African Improvement Financial institution (AfDB) AFDB.UL, whereas Credit score Suisse Group AG CSGN.S was charged with lining up $350 million from industrial lenders.
“Cocobod has reached monetary shut. They are going to be tidying that up tomorrow. All of the legal professionals are going to be right here tomorrow,” AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina instructed Reuters on the sidelines of its Africa Funding Discussion board in Johannesburg.
An official for the regulator, generally known as Cocobod, confirmed they deliberate to shut the deal on the convention on Tuesday.
