MILAN, Aug 20 (Reuters) – Italy’s civil aviation authority ENAC mentioned it may wonderful funds carriers EasyJet EZJ.L and Wizz Air WIZZ.L for charging additional charges for seats assigned to adults accompanying minors and disabled individuals.
In an announcement on Friday it mentioned early checks confirmed the carriers had not but upgraded their IT and working programs to make sure clients weren’t charged additional when reserving seats subsequent to underage passengers or individuals with disabilities.
ENAC mentioned it had opened proceedings to wonderful the 2 carriers as much as 50,000 euros for every allegation, in addition to Spanish low-cost airline Volotea.
With the summer time vacation season at its peak in Italy, ENAC has urged all airways working in Italy to cancel seat surcharges for sure passengers.
