Jan 31 (Reuters) – Laura Ashley Holdings Plc’s chief
govt officer, Kwan Cheong Ng, is stepping down after eight
years on the helm, a departure that comes at a time when the
clothes and furnishing retailer is attempting to show round its
enterprise.
Chief Working Officer Katharine Poulter will take over the
high job from Might 1.
Laura Ashley, a favorite of Princess Diana in its 1980s
heyday, has been one of many victims of the gloom that has
shrouded Britain’s retail sector.
Gross sales on the firm have been hit by retailer closures,
weak point in its dwelling furnishings enterprise and a dampening
client temper. Nevertheless, it reported rising like-for-like gross sales
in its style enterprise in August, pointing to a resurgence in

In October, the retailer changed chief monetary officer
Seán Anglim, who had been with the corporate since 1998, and
