LONDON, Oct 18 (Reuters) – A climate-change protester climbed scaffolding round London’s Large Ben tower at parliament on Friday, as almost two weeks of motion from the Extinction Rebel group attracts to an in depth.
The motion has been focusing on authorities buildings, a neighborhood airport and monetary establishments reminiscent of BlackRock to focus on the risk posed by international warming.
Tree surgeon Ben Atkinson, 43, climbed a part of the best way up Large Ben, hanging two banners from scaffolding on the tower, which is being renovated.
“(He) will drop an Extinction Rebel banner to focus on authorities inaction on the Local weather and Ecological Emergency,” the group mentioned in a message.
Coming to prominence in April when it sparked journey chaos in London for 11 days, Extinction Rebel needs Britain to speed up its plans to remove fossil fuels.
Police mentioned officers had been on the scene.
