Mills in Brazil increase ethanol output, lower sugar as season nears finish

SAO PAULO, Nov 26 (Reuters)Mills in Brazil’s center-south area elevated ethanol manufacturing and lower sugar output within the first half of November because the season attracts to an early shut, trade group Unica mentioned on Tuesday.

Crops in the primary Brazilian sugar belt produced 786,000 tonnes of the sweetener early in November, 11% lower than in the identical interval a 12 months earlier, whereas ethanol output rose 19% to 1.29 billion liters. Unica mentioned 120 mills had completed cane processing for the season by Nov. 16 in contrast with solely 86 at the moment final season.
