POLL-U.S. soybean harvest seen as 62% complete, corn 54%

By Julie Ingwersen

CHICAGO, Oct 18 (Reuters)The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s weekly crop progress report will likely show the U.S. soybean harvest as 62% complete and the corn harvest as 54% complete, according to the average of estimates from 12 analysts polled by Reuters on Monday.

Analysts on average expected no change in weekly corn condition ratings since last week, when the USDA rated 60% of the crop in good to excellent condition.

The USDA did not plan to release condition ratings for soybeans in the upcoming report given that the soy harvest was nearly half-finished, at 49% complete, by Oct. 10.

The government was scheduled to publish its report at 3 p.m. CDT (2000 GMT) on Monday.

For the U.S. winter wheat crop that will be harvested in 2022, analysts on average expected the USDA to report planting as 73% complete, up from 60% the previous week.
