Southwest finds cracks on two Boeing 737 NG airplanes throughout inspections

WASHINGTON, Oct 9 (Reuters)Southwest Airways Co LUV.N mentioned Wednesday it discovered cracks on two Boeing BA.N 737 NG airplanes and eliminated them from service after U.S. regulators final week ordered pressing inspections.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration final week advised plane operators to examine 165 Boeing 737 NG airliners for structural cracks inside seven days after the problem was discovered on a small variety of planes.

Southwest, which didn’t discover any points within the “overwhelming majority” of the planes, mentioned it “eliminated the 2 plane from our operation and reported the findings to Boeing and the FAA. The plane will stay out of our schedule till the problems have been absolutely resolved.”

Practically all of the 165 planes are Southwest plane, officers mentioned. Final week, the FAA mentioned planes with fewer flights will finally get inspected.
