BANGKOK, Nov 27 (Reuters)Thailand’s manufacturing manufacturing index (MPI) dropped a smaller-than-expected 0.54% in October from a 12 months earlier, with decrease manufacturing of automobiles and garments amid the coronavirus pandemic, the trade ministry mentioned on Friday.

That compares with a forecast for a decline of 1.80% in a Reuters ballot, and towards September’s revised fall of two.15%.

Capability utilisation in October was 63.2% after September’s revised 63.46%.

The ministry additionally forecast the MPI index would fall 8% this 12 months, having projected a 8-9% drop. It expects the index to rise 4.0-5.0% subsequent 12 months. Industrial items account for about 80% of complete exports, a key driver of Thai development.
