Jan 19 (Reuters)Tyson Meals Inc TSN.N agreed to settle price-fixing litigation by shoppers who accused it of illegally conspiring to inflate costs within the $65 billion hen trade.

The settlement with so-called “end-user” shoppers was disclosed in a Tuesday submitting in Chicago federal court docket.

It got here eight days after Tyson agreed to settle associated antitrust claims by purchasers who purchased chickens immediately from the Springdale, Arkansas-based firm.

Phrases weren’t disclosed. Neither settlement impacts comparable claims by restaurant and grocery store operators comparable to Chick-fil-A, Kroger Co KR.N and Walmart Inc WMT.N.

Tyson didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.

Pilgrim’s Satisfaction Corp PPC.O, owned primarily by Brazil’s JBS SA JBSS3.SA, agreed on Jan. 11 to pay $75 million to settle claims by direct purchasers of chickens.

The settlements require court docket approval.

Eating places, supermarkets, meals distributors and shoppers accused hen producers of getting conspired since 2008 to inflate hen costs, by way of techniques comparable to proscribing manufacturing and sharing nonpublic information about provide and demand.

Perdue Farms Inc and Sanderson Farms Inc SAFM.O are among the many different defendants within the litigation, which started in 2016. Just a few smaller producers have settled associated claims.
