Ukraine 2021 grain harvest 8.6% full at 5.5 mln T


KYIV, July 16 (Reuters)Ukrainian farms have harvested 5.5 million tonnes of grain from 8.6% of its sowing space with the yield averaging 4.16 tonne per hectare, the agriculture ministry stated on Friday.

The quantity consists of 2.9 million tonnes of barley, harvested from 27.8% of the world with a yield of 4.29 tonne per hectare, and a couple of.5 million tonnes of wheat with a yield of 4.11 tonnes, the ministry stated.

Beneficial climate might assist Ukraine to reap about 76 million tonnes of grain this yr, up from 65 million in 2020, the ministry has stated.

The APK-Inform consultancy this month stated that hostile climate circumstances in key grain areas might result in vital losses in Ukraine’s barley and wheat harvests.
