Vietnam Airways to public sale 11 Airbus planes to assist service


HANOI, June 3 (Reuters)Vietnam Airways HVN.HM plans to promote 11 Airbus AIR.PA A321 plane by means of an public sale, because the Southeast Asian nation’s flag service struggles with the financial fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline, which is 86% owned by the federal government, mentioned in an announcement posted on its web site this week that patrons may submit bids by June 29.

The public sale of the jets, made between 2004 and 2008, is a part of the airline’s efforts to rejuvenate its fleet and shore up its monetary place in the course of the pandemic, state media cited an unnamed Vietnam Airways supply as saying on Thursday.
