BARQUISIMETO, Venezuela, Dec 18 (Reuters)Final August, Francys Rivero, an unemployed single mom of 4, feared for her child’s life. Two months after his beginning, though she was breastfeeding him frequently, Kenai de Jesus wasn’t gaining weight.

“I really feel like my coronary heart is breaking,” Rivero, 32, advised Reuters in an interview right here within the capital of the western Venezuelan state of Lara. “I do not know what’s unsuitable with my son.”

She tried repeatedly to see nutritionists, however failed. One did not present up, one other required a month-long wait. Determined, Rivero attended a charity occasion providing checkups and knowledge for households of youngsters with dietary issues.

On the occasion, organized by Caritas, the Catholic support group, medical doctors carried out a check-up. With donations from the charity, and monetary help from siblings now dwelling overseas, Rivero started supplementing her breast milk with child formulation.
